I mean, a little it is. But not directly. It's an indirect relation. Coffee. I'm going to talk about coffee.
Look, I love coffee. LOVE. IT. However, as I've aged (and really this aging thing is getting out of hand), my body, specifically my heart, has taken to not appreciating said love. So rude. I had to make changes. Even more rude.
I'm not a big fan of changes. I was in mourning when I had to start drinking my sad, brown water, aka decaf.
But I persevered. Decaf still tastes good. I mean, it tastes like regular. It just doesn't make my heart react the same way. Which is important, if continuing to live is, you know, the plan.
I've made other health-changes as well. Probably close to seven years ago, I began adding collagen to my daily routine. A scoop of Anthony's Collagen Peptide to my coffee, tea, smoothies, each day, and I began to notice my hair, skin, and nails were getting better, healthier, and stronger. WINNING.
About six months ago, scrolling Pinterest (come on, I know you do it, too), I saw a post about the benefits of dandelion. Wait. You mean to tell me, those white, fluffy flowers that spring up in the yard are BENEFICIAL?? Crazy.
Amazon was listening, because I then got an ad for, you guessed it, Dandelion based DECAF coffee. So I bought some. Why not? And you know what? It's GOOD! Like, really good. And, it's good for me.
Then, close to a month ago, Pinterest struck again, showing me a post about cacao powder versus cocoa powder. Until that post, I'd thought they were the same thing, just spelled different, depending on where you're from. They're not. They're different. And one is healthy for you, and delicious. Literally, I could eat it straight from the package, no sweetener or anything.
Because I love myself, and you should love yourself, too, I make a delicious, HEALTHY, and beneficial cup of "coffee" for myself each morning. Isn't it beautiful??

Ingredients and steps: Truvia to taste, a scoop of Anthony's, a heaping teaspoon of the Dandelion blend, and one to two heaping teaspoons of the Viva Naturals Organic Cacao Powder. Add boiling water, blend, then drink, or REALLY love yourself and add a splash (like a Tbs or two) of half and half, and top with a heavy whipped cream. YUM.
Now, doesn't that sound amazing?? Go ahead, live a little, and love yourself. Take care of your body, and it'll take care of you. I hope.
SIDE NOTE: adding a pinch, just a teeny, TINY sprinkle of mineral salt (like pink Himalayan) will make any non-sweetened chocolate sweeter. Don't ask me how. It's magic and it works.
I've included links for the products I use on Amazon. *I have NO, zero, zilch affiliation with these brands or companies, I just really like them and thought to share.
