Hello and welcome! Ever wondered what exactly I do? Let me tell you about it; read on for a glimpse at what the life of a closed door romance author looks like.

Honestly, I wear MANY hats. First and foremost, I'm a wife and a mom. My husband and I will be married 25 years this July (more about that in the future). My oldest child turned twenty-four this year. My youngest will turn eighteen, with the middle one being between the two. Being a wife, being a mom, has been THE biggest blessing of my life. And I wouldn't trade any of it for ANYTHING.

I've been a teacher and have homeschooled my kids. They've never stepped foot inside a traditional school. And I've loved every moment of it. Yes, even those times it was difficult and I felt like I was failing them. I wasn't, but boy can that imposter syndrome creep in.

In addition, we raise beef cattle. We have a breeding bull and a few cows and we raise homegrown, hand-raised beef. We're fortunate, because it's SO much better for you than what you can get in the stores. Not to mention the PRICING of everything.

I also have a part time job processing firearms for an FFL dealer. I maintain their Bound Book by processing the firearms that come in to their store, and the firearms that leave their store, which is something required by Government. And contrary to popular belief, NO, it is NOT easy to purchase a firearm. There are mandatory state training courses, a ten day waiting period, a background check, a fee, and it's looking like we're going to be forced to purchase special insurance as well as receive SPECIAL permission from the state in order to exercise this particular Constitutional Right. I'll leave this rest, because I'm sure you don't want to hear me from my soapbox. But I do encourage you to learn more on the subject.

As for authoring... and everything that goes with it? There are many hats I don there as well. First, I get to be the creative and actually WRITE the book. I get to think up these characters and who they are and tell their stories. Then I hire the editors, the cover designer, still more editors, and do marketing research. I purchase formatting software, and any other various numbers of software needed to perform these duties. Currently, I'm learning how to properly run Amazon Ads. So much to unpack and learn there, but I'm finding it rewarding.

I also have to maintain my own Social Media for said Authorship. Currently, I have this website, an Instagram, a Facebook, a Pinterest, a YouTube, a Goodreads, and an Amazon platform. My next venture is to look into furthering and bettering my Newsletter.

Speaking of, have you signed up for it yet? I'm not one of those authors who spam you constantly in your inbox. You'll hear from me when I run a sale, have specific writing news (like when I need Beta readers or am trying to start a Street Team), when I launch a book, etc...

And just for signing up, you will receive a FREE prequel chapter for both KatyBeth and Asher from BEFORE they meet in Out of the Blue. Newsletter subscribers get firsthand knowledge of new projects and characters, and may even be asked to help brainstorm for them. You can sign up here.

There's so much more to Social Media than what was briefly mentioned above. For instance, it's not enough to just make a post or two. One must make the RIGHT kind of post, with the RIGHT kind of content. There's music, reels, carousels. All while TRYING to find the time to actually do that writing. Hello, author!

Just curious, do we have anything in common? Are we on the same boat anywhere here? I was just wondering.

Recently, I finished Courtney Walsh's book, My Lucky Charm. SO GOOD. All the stars. Have you read this one, or any of hers yet? If not, I encourage you to. She's fabulous. Find out more about her here: courtneywalshwrites.com

Well, that's all I have for you now. I hope I've given you a small glimpse of what I do as an author. Have questions, or comments? Please ask, or say. I'd love to hear from you, and don't forget to tell me what you're reading.

As always, thanks for stopping by,
