Welcome to the latest blog post by me, E.L. Irwin, author of clean and closed door romances.
And, I'm back. Not that I was literally gone, but I think you catch my drift. It HAS been a while since my last blog post, however. In all honesty, I was trying to not confuse people about the giveaway I'm doing in a couple weeks. Wanting to leave that last post I did readily available.
Yes, this is still the $50 Amazon gift card giveaway. Yes, it IS still happening. I've just changed the WAY it's going to happen.
Before, you were supposed to take quotes I'd post to Instagram from my books and create your own posts/reels and tag me in them using those quotes and a special hashtag. But I think I ended up confusing everyone, so changed it. Now, you'll simply comment on the quote that is your favorite and tell me WHY it's your favorite. Easy-peasy. Nothing to it. Just tell me your favorite quote and why it's your favorite.
I've posted seven quotes so far, and will post the final one on the 28th (which just so happens to be my 25th Anniversary). Then on August 6th, I'll post them all again. You comment on which is your favorite, and I'll do the drawing on the seventh, which is my birthday and the reason for this giveaway in the first place. Pretty cool, huh?
Let's see...any writing updates?
I'm making progress on the revisions for The Lost and Found and am about 2/3 done with those. We'll consider those to be first-round revisions. Then I'll do a second round before sending it to a developmental editor. Then I'll make those changes, then on to a copy editor, then cover art, the blurb, formatting, and publication. Happy Day! I'm hoping to have this one completed by the end of this year. Pray all works out, please. And I'm still working on the sequel to TLAF about the three brothers, Cam, Fynn, and Rafe, who are friends of the FMC from TLAF, Crimson Sage. I really love these guys, and hope you will, too.
In other news, this fall, my daughter will graduate with her Bachelors and I couldn't be more proud. I've already purchased my airline ticket to go see her walk the aisle. SUPER excited about that. She amazes me time and time again. God has blessed me richly. Especially in the relationships I have with my children. I didn't have a great relationship with my own mother for most of my life. So, to have such great relationships with my children is a worth immeasurable, one I'm fervently thankful for. In addition, I have a wonderful son-in-law whom I love dearly and who loves me back. BLESSED, y'all!!
Probably going to keep this post relatively short as I'll post another on my anniversary in a few days. But had wanted to check in with you all and see how everyone is doing. Hope all is well in your world, and if there is EVER anything you'd like prayer over, please don't hesitate to ask. I will cover you.
Take care. Be kind to yourself and others--we all need it.
Your Lady of Literature,
Ps, here's an example of one of those quotes for that giveaway. They'll all look like this: black lettering on ripped white paper over a green background.
