Hello, and welcome to my latest blog post here at E.L. Irwin, author of steamy, yet clean and closed-door romances with a Christian flavoring.

I think I've shared before how important book reviews for authors are. It's not an exaggeration to say that they are the life blood for the writing community. Reviews can be simple: I loved this book/I hated this book! Or, they can be extravagant and wordy. Whatever YOU, the reader, are comfortable with.
I've received some fabulous ones (seriously, THANK YOU!), and some not-so-fabulous ones (I even took the time to thank that particular reviewer, even though she gave me a 2-star because she was angry my characters did NOT have sex). eye roll
Of all the ones I've received, the one that I will cherish THE most is the one I received from my 98 year old grandmother. She's the woman I am named after, and the one who guided me most in my life.
When I say my books are safe for you, your daughter, your grandmother, and your pastor's wife, I truly mean it. Grandma is 98: she'll be 99 in January (I hope I live as long as she has, and stay in as good of health). She's read all of my books. She read Out of the Blue ten years ago when it first came out, and has read it twice more since then. When I revised the story and republished it, I gave her a copy to read, then asked if she'd be willing to write a simple review for me.
Please keep in mind, she is 98. She is NOT on social media, does not even have internet connection of any kind. When she needs something online, she asks me to take care of it for her--which I'm beyond HAPPY to do. Anyway, Grandma agreed to review this for me. She said, "Now, Muffin (that's my nickname and has been since I was born), I'm not a writer, so I don't know if this is what you want."
I did my best to assure her that I simply wanted her honest opinion in her own words on my book. This is what she wrote:
"It was a pleasure for me to go into my library, kick off my shoes, and sit down with a hot cup of my favorite tea, then open my book by E.L. Irwin. It was a joy for me to read about Katy and Asher. It kept me on my toes. Sometimes in tears and other times having a good laugh. I loved to read about beautiful Cody, Wyoming. It's a joy to read.
I hope it was have a final chapter someday, in their 'later life'."
Signed, "Grandma"

This review means EVERYTHING to me. Just thought I'd share it with you, and I hope you enjoy it as well.

As always, I thank you for stopping by, and wish you well. Be safe, and kind, and courageous, and happy reading!
