Fall Approaches

Not gonna lie, fall is my most favorite time of year. The air is crisp and somehow seems cleaner. Or maybe that's just me breathing easier knowing I survived another summer. It's possible. There are are things about each season that I adore, but truly, fall is my favorite. I'm looking forward to the fires on the back patio, soups, breads, the colors, the slowing down. All of it.
August is always a difficult month for me anyway. My birthday is in August, and let's face it, birthdays just don't hold the same magic they used to when I was a child. And, August is the month my dad passed away. In fact, today marks nine years since his passing and not a single day goes by that I do not think of him, that I do not miss him. I know he's with Jesus, and would never want to take him from his Savior's side, by dang, do I miss him. Deep breath. Sometimes, that loss just hits me at the oddest times. Like this morning found me sobbing. I miss my dad, so much.
Moving on. If you follow my Instagram or Facebook pages, you might have seen that we recently tried out a newer local restaurant: Blackthorne Neighborhood Pub. So good. So, so good. Interior was fun and classy, food was delicious, the staff were wonderful, AND, get this, they have Guinness ON TAP. Yeah. Here is the US. And they had a decent pour. Nice, thick creamy head that passed the tilt and blow tests. Lacing on the glass could have been a little better, but dang was that good. We'll definitely be going back.
As a Clean Reads Author, I feel as though I'm on a huge learning curve here lately. I just turned 49, and am still learning new things. For instance, I just joined BookFunnel, and am now trying to get some reader magnets (just learned what those were this summer, see?) created. Remember that newsletter I mention a while back? Well, I'm ALMOST ready to launch. Just testing things out to see how well things deliver, as well as compiling ideas for these newsletters. Because, as stated before in that earlier post, I don't want to waste your time. I want you to look forward to my emails, and hopefully not ignore them. And I know, I know we all get busy. Life happens, but still, I'm hopeful.
I'm hopeful to have ARCs ready to go out soon, as well as signed copies available sometime next month with some fun swag to send with them.
Oh, and I've created a YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/@EIrwin-od5xo where I've been sharing short teasers and videos about Out of the Blue, and myself as a writer. So, if you're bored, you could always check it out. hint, hint.
Well, I guess that's it from me for now. As always, thanks so much for stopping by. Be kind to yourself--kindness is needed everywhere.
Keep reading, and take care of you,
Your Lady of Literature,
