One Step Closer

Today, I did something that brings me one step closer to hitting that "publish" button on Out of the Blue.
I've been working on my front matter, my back matter, the extras, and a couple days ago, I purchased my formatting software, but TODAY, I purchased my ISBNs. Yay. Me.
I'm a little giddy right now. Truly. I'm so passionate about these characters and their stories, and I just want you to have them already, but I don't want to rush things. I want to make this as perfect for you as I'm able.
So, I'm practicing patience, which, like Asher, is not a strong suit for me. But I'm learning it. For you. Please, know it's all for you.
Let's see; in other news, I'm reading Genny Carrick's Just Act Natural, and let me tell you, I am HERE FOR IT! Omgosh, the bed was shaking this morning from my laughter. It's so good. I'm not quite halfway through it, but so far, it's a solid five stars from me. She's a new author to me, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but wow, is this story good. Seriously, go get it.
Book ratings; can we talk about those for a moment? I see many bloggers that have a rating scale complete with everything they're looking for in order to achieve this or that rating. And while I admire their organization and professionalism, I'm just not that type of reader. When I start a book, what I expect is to be pulled into the story. I want to feel for those characters. And I want a satisfying ending. Okay, I want my HEA. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so. And as long as I get that, it's pretty much a five star read for me. Occasionally, I give a four star, like if I had to skip FAR too many scenes because sex was the main theme, but otherwise, so long as I was entertained, yeah, fivers from me all around. Once or twice, I run across one that I have to DNF, but that is RARE. Like, I think I've only done that once, or twice. And if the book just isn't holding me, and I'm thinking a three star? Well, I just don't rate or review it. I'm not here to tear another author down. While I may not agree with their writing or the story line, I'm not about to shoot them down over it.
If you go over to my BOOKS page, you'll notice that I've updated, again, the back cover blurb. I had the fabulous, Kristin Vayden look it over, and she made some great changes that I tweaked a little, and now have an amazing blurb. If you get a moment, will you let me know what you think?
I think that's it for right now. Stay tuned to be informed as to when I do push that publish button. As always, thank you for stopping by.
Until next time,
Your Lady of Literature
