One week later blog post: Today marks one week since I re-released Out of the Blue, and seven more days until the release of the paperback version. Which, I must tell you is BEAUTIFUL!

I had a quick little celebration with Ghirardelli chocolate cake and a couple fingers of whiskey to mark the occasion. While that was fun, now the hard part begins.

Now maybe I'm wrong, but I'm fairly certain that any writer will tell you that the writing, even the editing and formatting, are the easiest parts of this whole process. The hard part is the MARKETING. It's the getting the word out there to readers and perspective readers. It's the convincing them to give your book a chance and actually read it, and then to go one further by asking them to leave a review. It's the asking them to tell others about your book.

As I'm sure you know by now, I write clean (little to no swearing) and closed-door (no explicit adult content) romances. And to help entice readers to read this book, I've written a prequel bonus chapter to Out of the Blue (see? Marketing attempted). Actually, there are two chapters. One from Katy's perspective, and the other from Asher's. These scenes take place BEFORE these characters meet in OotB. To read them, click the link I've included below for your convenience. I truly hope you enjoy this glimpse into Kate's and Asher's lives before OotB begins.

In other news, I'm still in need of shoulder surgery and STILL waiting on approval to proceed with the surgery. In the meantime, I'm trying to be careful and not cause myself any further injury or pain. But, life happens. For instance, a couple weeks back, my pillow fell out of bed and I reached for it, and instantly felt a sharp burning pain, resulting in me getting up, needing ice and Ibuprofen. Then, last week, I was working with my gelding Rowan, and he spooked, taking off. I was holding his lead rope with my left hand--I'd been brushing him with my right. And though, I wasn't holding the rope tightly, it still pulled, again, causing sharp burning pain in the arm and shoulder. Again, ice and Ibuprofen. I'm trying to be patient, but I REALLY need this done.

My current read is, Once Upon an Apple by Gabrielle Landi. It's a Snow White retelling. And, so far, I'm enjoying it. Once I finish this one, I'll be eight books over my Goodreads reading challenge of 50 books. Yay me. What are YOU reading? Any good suggestions? Tell me what you've got.

Well, I think that's it for now. I hope you're well. Be kind and courageous.

Until next time,

Your Lady of Literature,
