I read somewhere that one big lie adults tell themselves is that, after such and such, things will slow down and I'll finally have more time. We tell ourselves this repeatedly. Over and over again. Until we die. True story.

Yes, my last post WAS. IN. MAY! I know, I know. And I'm sorry. Truly. This summer has simply been crazy busy. Busy with mostly good things, though. One bad thing, but I'll tell you about that later. For now, I'll tell you that I am still querying for Out of the Blue. So far, I've either had no reply, or kind, "keep trying/you're almost there" replys. I've revised the manuscript, and it's now below 100k words. Craziness. But I think I made good changes.

I'm also still working on the sequel to OotB, Written in the Deep, and it's over 65k words. So that's coming along nicely. If you follow me on Instagram, you will hopefully have seen several sneak peeks that I've shared. If not, what are you waiting for?? Follow me and take a look.

Another good thing I've done, is FINALLY hired a trainer for my rescue horse, Rowan's Whiskey. I was somewhat forced to do this from the one bad thing that I'll talk about later.

BUT!! Let me tell you about the good, good thing that happened. Later in 2021, my daughter met a wonderful young man. I knew he liked her right off, but my daughter had somewhat recently (at the time) ended a relationship and "didn't have time for dating" as she was busy with her new horse, school, and work. He was persistent though, and soon they were dating. Fast forward a year to the anniversary of their first date and he was proposing. Then, in September of this year, it was my husband's and my extreme pleasure and priviledge to give her away in marriage. We honestly couldn't be happier for them.

Needless to say, my focus had been on preparations for the wedding. Which was incredibly beautiful, I must say. And now, I've found myself trying to adapt to my daughter not being here. I'm thoroughly happy for her and wouldn't want anything different, but it has been a big change for me. A big adjustment.

Now, for the bad. In mid-July, I managed to injure my left shoulder while at work. Physical Therapy didn't help. Massage has helped, but only minimally as the therapist says it's like trying to massage a brick, there's so much inflamation. In addition to what the surgeon is thinking is another tear in the biceps tendon, I also have a slight separation in the ac joint. All of this is painful and has resulted in me coming to the conclusion that I needed that horse trainer. I found one who adheres to the Gerry Cox way, and I love her. I had an MRI on the shoulder yesterday and will find out the results next week.

So yeah, that's what's been going on. Thank you for sticking with me. Go ahead and leave a comment, ask your questions, and I'll get back with you.

Take care, and until next time,

Your Lady of Literature.

PS: Books I'm currently reading: Outlander book 9 (Bees), Unwrapping the Names of Jesus, The Book of Revelation Made Clear, and Romancing the Beat. What are YOU currently reading?
